Suzanne Lussier is an artist, educator and the Studio Coordinator at the University of California, San Diego Craft Center. Based in San Diego, California, she has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. While clay is her primary medium, Suzanne is known for her versatility, working with a wide range of materials including metals, wood, fiberglass, concrete, stained glass, fibers, and anything else she can creatively incorporate into her projects.
Suzanne holds a BA in Art from Gonzaga University, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from the Oregon College of Art and Craft, a Master of Arts in Teaching from American University in Washington, DC, and a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the University of Montana. Her diverse artistic journey has also included a series of artist residencies, apprenticeships, and assistanceships, which have further honed her craft.
She has taught at numerous universities, colleges, and art centers across the country and has even led workshops in far-flung locations, including Coihaique in the Patagonia region of Chile. Suzanne is especially known for her monumental sculptures and her illustrative works. Outside of her artistic endeavors, she enjoys spending time in her garden, working on DIY projects at home, and frolicking about with her beloved Wheaton Terrier, Dolly.
